Life Planning is a beloved mentorship program here at St. John's! At the time they enter the program, each high school teen is paired with an adult member within the congregation who serves as the teen's mentor through his/her high school years.
The full group gathers for activities and games, service projects, devotional time, and life conversations once a month. In addition to the monthly gatherings, mentors and students are encouraged to spend one-on-one time together outside of church, with mentors praying regularly with and for the youth. This program has led to lasting mentor/mentee relationships and friendships long into the youth's adult years!
"The Life Planning program has really been an encouragement. It's easy to talk to my mentor and tell them about my life. We talk about different random topics that turn into very long and very thoughtful conversations."
- Joshua R., Age 16
"I continue to keep in touch with my Life Planning mentor to this day and I love having his support through each new stage of my life. I've now become a dad and continue to carry some of the lessons he taught me into my relationships with my own children."
